fallout 8|21 GATHERING

18 10 2007

Greetings students! Last night we not only celebrated the birth of Rachel, but experienced Jesus. At the fallout//gathering we took some time to put our life on “pause” and be still before God. (Psalm 46.10NIV) In Hebrew, the original language of the OT, the verb of “Be still” essentially means to be lazy, relax, be content, and be motionless before God, while acknowledging who He is and what He has done for us.

We set the fellowship hall into five stations. Station one was the wall prayer of need. The students were invited to be real and raw with God communicating to Him their needs, wants, questions, and desires. Station two was the nails of thanksgiving. The students were encouraged to write down on the colored posted note what they are thankful for and nailed it to the cross. The third station was “mediating on the Word.” At this station student were able to explore the Biblical texts that communicate hope, peace, and strength. The fourth station allowed for student to draw anything they wanted that reflected their walk with God. The fifth station was the station of stillness. There were many comfortable pillows and the students were asked just to be and reflect on how big God is.

After about twenty minutes, we as the jr high group broke communion together. It was a powerful night just to be still know and remember who God is.
